Zenith OS · coming soon
A desktop that gets out of your way.
Zenith is a Linux-based desktop OS built around the things people already like: a dock, a Start menu, a clean dark look, and encryption that is simply on. It is in development.
Start menu
Press the key and type.
Apps, settings and files show up in one list. Pinned apps sit in a grid, recent things are underneath, and your account and the power button are in the footer where you would expect them.
Installer
It tells you before it does anything.
You see exactly what will be erased and what will be created before the install starts. Encryption is on by default and you get a recovery key. It takes about ten minutes.
What you get
The basics, done well.
Encrypted by default
Full-disk encryption with a recovery key. TPM unlock if your PC has one.
One boot file
The kernel and everything it needs ship as one signed file. There is nothing to configure.
Snapshots before updates
A snapshot is taken before every update. If something breaks, roll back.
Our own apps
Atlas for files, Caspian for the web, and a Start menu made for Zenith.
Developer and gaming setups
Pick a profile when you install: developer tools, gaming (Steam, Proton), or both.
A calm look
Dark, flat, one accent colour. No effects for the sake of it.
Where it is at
Installing and booting on our test machines.
The apps are being built now. There is no public download yet. Zenith is made by Earl Balai Jr.
